Been to see a few things I like recently. Maybe some of them will pique your interest.

Saw Sweeney Todd on Broadway and thought it was just great. Minimal staging, the actors play the instruments and the focus is on the songs and story. Excellent acting by Michael Cerveris of Tommy fame (saw that one 5 times!). |
| V for Vendetta is one hell of a movie. Great story of an over the top facist government in charge of a 30 years in the future or so England. Lots of parallels with modern days politics. it is not perfect, but it sure beats 90% of the crap out there. |

The DVD for Nowhere in Africa presents an epic story of personal struggle and growth during a German/Jewish families exile in Africa during WWII. The husband and wife are locked in a death match for their marriage while their teenage daughter thrives on the lessons of African life. Highly reccomend it! |

For a fun night in, rent the French DVD, The Dinner Game. This is a great movie to start someone off on subtitled foreign movies. The humor is broad, funny as hell and often in no need of dialogue . |
